NAVBLUE is a leading services company, wholly owned by Airbus, dedicated to Flight Operations & Air Traffic Management solutions and services for airlines, airports, and Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs). We combine aircraft manufacturer expertise, flight operations know-how and agile development to enhance operational efficiency, optimize resources and increase productivity for safe and sustainable aviation. Our global teams deliver a reliable, optimum and customized user experience to more than 500 customers worldwide.


  • 1987

    After Ray and Dorothy English create Navtech, Dorothy goes on to develop the first computerised flight plan software on a TRS-80 personal computer.

  • 1993

    Navtech buys Compuflight and increases flight planning market share.

  • 1998

    Navtech acquires the Weather Service division of Global Weather Dynamics, Inc. and widens its portfolio.

  • 2001

    Navtech acquires Airware Solutions, Inc. and enters the Crew Planning market, providing the industry’s leading Preferential Bidding Solution.

  • 2005

    Navtech acquires European Aeronautical Group, a group founded by Scandinavian Airlines, British Airways and a number of avionics manufacturers.

  • 2008

    Navtech becomes one of the top three world leaders in the field, delivering Flight Planning, Charts, EFB, Crew Planning, and Aircraft Performance Solutions.

  • 2009

    Airbus creates Quovadis, a dedicated subsidiary to develop Performance based Navigation services.

  • 2011

    Airbus creates Airbus ProSky to improve the overall performance of Air Traffic Management.

  • 2012

    Quovadis is merged into Airbus ProSky.

  • 2014

    Airbus launches “LUCEM” as part of its Bizlab initiative: its objective is to start producing high quality data for new cockpit needs such as the airport mapping database.

  • 2016

    Airbus acquires Navtech and decides to merge it with Airbus LUCEM and Airbus ProSky to create NAVBLUE.

  • 2020

    NAVBLUE acquires Aviolinx and the RAIDO application to complete the N-Operations Control Centre Suite, and enhances its Flight Operations and Air Traffic Management Portfolio.

Committed to air transport safety and performance, NAVBLUE never compromises on the quality of its solutions.

NAVBLUE globally follows the standards set out in the EN/AS 9100 (ISO 9001) standard and ED-76 (DO-200) and holds an AS9100 certificate at all sites. All levels of management undergo review on a regular basis, inspiring them to provide customers with solutions that deliver on their promises.

NAVBLUE also holds a certificate granted by UKAS Management Systems for conforming to the Information Security Management System standard: ISO/IEC 27001:2013

NAVBLUE has EASA DAT certification (also acknowledged by the FAA in North America) for Type 1 Navigation Databases and for Type 1 and Type 2 Airport Database (including Runway Database).

NAVBLUE is compliant with the requirements of the cyber essentials scheme and was awarded the certificate of assurance in July 2019.

Management Team

Fabrice Hamel


Fabrice has over 30 years of experience in the aerospace industry. He started as an avionics engineer contributing to design the pioneering fly-by-wire Airbus cockpits. Being close to the customers and responding to their needs being key drivers for him, he was later responsible for Airbus Customer Support in Asia, before moving on as Head Airbus Training Services.
Developing innovative solutions that bring value, safety and quality are his main business priorities, just like NAVBLUE. Reach for the skies.

Nathalie Lorenz


Nathalie holds a master’s degree in international business from ESCP Europe. She started her career in investment banking and management consulting.
In 2004, she joined Airbus in finance. Since then, she has held various roles from business controlling to performance management.
Nathalie has over 20 years of experience in strategy and finance in different countries (Western Europe, US and Asia-Pacific).

Erin Appleby


As Vice President, Operational Excellence, Quality and Safety, Erin is responsible for global financial planning, forecasting, budgeting and legal contracts, as well as all efforts to maintain NAVBLUE's quality standards. She joined Navtech in March 2008, serving as Vice President, Business Planning & Quality since August 2013.
Erin is a Black Belt certified Six Sigma Expert.

Philippe Fontes


Philippe has over 15 years experience in Human Resource working in France, Germany and China. After starting his career in the large retail business, he joined Airbus HR department in manufacturing. He then moved to China where he implemented the A320 Final Assembly Line in Tianjin. He then moved to Hamburg as HR for Airframe Engineering and became Senior HR for Airbus Programmes in France. In his former role, Philippe was Head of International Mobility.

Thomas Lagaillarde


Thomas had been developing new businesses for Thales and Airbus for more than 12 years before his appointment as Vice President On-Ground Solutions at NAVBLUE and now Vice President Product Portfolio & Programmes.

He founded an internet start-up while still a student, and has since led projects around integrated Electronic Flight Bag operations, pilot training and runway safety systems with that same entrepreneurial spirit. At NAVBLUE he is now leading the transition to an integrated agile lean portfolio management to enhance the customer value creation and boost competitiveness.

Patrick Hagelauer


Patrick holds a French engineering school degree, a Masters degree in Aeronautical Engineering from MIT and a PhD on aircraft 4D trajectory optimization. He started as an avionics engineer at Airbus designing innovative functions for the Flight Management System (FMS). He led the development of the A380 FMS which introduced interactivity in the Airbus cockpits. Patrick then took on the Program Manager responsibility for the navigation, communication, surveillance systems on the A350 Program before joining NAVBLUE in October 2018 as Head of Strategy and Innovation. He has 25 years experience in the aerospace industry

Briac Kerihuel


Since 2014, as VP Marketing & Sales, Briac has been in charge of Sales, Marketing, Commercial Strategy, Bid, Pricing & Sales Operations within Thales Avionics Services Worldwide Business Segment.
During his career, he has been leading several types of sales related to NAVBLUE businesses such as EFB solutions, Database Distribution Services, Functional Upgrades (FMS/SVS/Surveillance)…

Justin Neale


Leading the NAVBLUE Customer Experience team, Justin is responsible for the global support of NAVBLUE Products & Services as well as the new NAVBLUE Academy capability that is bringing industry leading eLearning and product documentation to NAVBLUE Customers. Justin has over 20 years experience in IT and aviation, joining NAVBLUE in September 2017 from SITA.

Pierre-Gilles Gour


Pierre-Gilles was appointed NAVBLUE’s Head of Legal, Ethics and Compliance in March 2016.
He is a seasoned professional, having practiced in a multinational law firm before joining Airbus Group. He has more than 15 years of legal practice experience in the aerospace industry.

Marc Lemeilleur


Marc holds a French engineering school degree with speciality in software engineering. He graduated with an Aerospace MBA from the Toulouse Business School. After few years as software engineer in banking and then data storage industries, Marc joined Airbus in 2000. He spent more than 10 years in Customer Services where he led the Flight Operations software product portfolio. In his role, Marc has developed a solid understanding of Airlines business as well as the competition.

NAVBLUE’s goal is to reach out to the entire market and develop software, charts and data customised to companies operating any type of aircraft.

At NAVBLUE, and more generally in Airbus, we are particularly committed to advancing women in the workplace and developing female talent.
