NAVBLUE is a leading services company, wholly owned by Airbus, dedicated to Flight Operations solutions and services for airlines and aircraft operators, on the ground and onboard. NAVBLUE combines aircraft manufacturer expertise, flight operations know-how and agile development to enhance operational efficiency, optimize resources and increase productivity, for a safe and sustainable aviation. NAVBLUE delivers a reliable, optimum and customized user experience to more than 600 customers worldwide, in a range of areas, including digital cockpit operations, Operations Control Centre (OCC) systems, Flight Ops Engineering and Performance Based Navigation (PBN). NAVBLUE employs 500 employees spread across the world, with offices in Canada, France, Poland, Singapore, Sweden, Thailand, UK and US and representatives in several other countries across the globe.

History

  • 1987

    After Ray and Dorothy English create Navtech, Dorothy goes on to develop the first computerised flight plan software on a TRS-80 personal computer.

  • 1993

    Navtech buys Compuflight and increases flight planning market share.

  • 1998

    Navtech acquires the Weather Service division of Global Weather Dynamics, Inc. and widens its portfolio.

  • 2001

    Navtech acquires Airware Solutions, Inc. and enters the Crew Planning market, providing the industry’s leading Preferential Bidding Solution.

  • 2005

    Navtech acquires European Aeronautical Group, a group founded by Scandinavian Airlines, British Airways and a number of avionics manufacturers.

  • 2008

    Navtech becomes one of the top three world leaders in the field, delivering Flight Planning, Charts, EFB, Crew Planning, and Aircraft Performance Solutions.

  • 2009

    Airbus creates Quovadis, a dedicated subsidiary to develop Performance based Navigation services.

  • 2011

    Airbus creates Airbus ProSky to improve the overall performance of Air Traffic Management.

  • 2012

    Quovadis is merged into Airbus ProSky.

  • 2014

    Airbus launches “LUCEM” as part of its Bizlab initiative: its objective is to start producing high quality data for new cockpit needs such as the airport mapping database.

  • 2016

    Airbus acquires Navtech and decides to merge it with Airbus LUCEM and Airbus ProSky to create NAVBLUE.

  • 2020

    NAVBLUE acquires Aviolinx and the RAIDO application to complete the N-Operations Control Centre Suite, and enhances its Flight Operations and Air Traffic Management Portfolio.

THE HIGHEST QUALITY STANDARDS

Committed to air transport safety and performance, NAVBLUE never compromises on the quality, safety and security of its solutions.

NAVBLUE globally follows the standards set out in the EN/AS 9100 (ISO 9001) standard and ED-76 (DO-200) and holds an AS9100 certificate at all sites. All levels of management undergo review on a regular basis, inspiring them to provide customers with solutions that deliver on their promises.

NAVBLUE also holds a certificate granted by UKAS Management Systems for conforming to the Information Security Management System standard: ISO/IEC 27001:2013

NAVBLUE has EASA DAT certification (also acknowledged by the FAA in North America) for Type 1 Navigation Databases and for Type 1 and Type 2 Airport Database (including Runway Database).

Navblue has obtained DSAC PFD certification related to Flight Procedure design activities such as design, documentation and validation of flight procedures including maintenance and periodic review activities

NAVBLUE is compliant with the requirements of the cyber essentials scheme and was awarded the certificate of assurance in July 2019.

NAVBLUE, in line with Airbus Group policy, considers the environmental factor as a key contributor to success and is working to build a sustainable future.

Products are designed with the environment in mind, and NAVBLUE’s core business is fully committed to a greener future in air transport. Solutions and software that improve flight operation fluidity and efficiency highly contribute to reducing fuel consumption and noise; encouraging air transport operators to go digital helps to reduce paper usage and save trees.

NAVBLUE itself is committed to minimising its carbon footprint both in terms of work organisation and across all of its processes.

MANAGEMENT TEAM

Marc Lemeilleur
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Marc holds a French engineering school degree with speciality in software engineering. He graduated with an Aerospace MBA from the Toulouse Business School. After few years as software engineer in banking and then data storage industries, Marc joined Airbus in 2000. He spent more than 10 years in Customer Services where he led the Flight Operations software product portfolio. In his role, Marc has developed a solid understanding of Airlines business as well as the competition.

Erin Appleby
VICE PRESIDENT OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE, QUALITY AND SAFETY
As Vice President, Operational Excellence, Quality and Safety, Erin is responsible for global financial planning, forecasting, budgeting and legal contracts, as well as all efforts to maintain NAVBLUE's quality standards. She joined Navtech in March 2008, serving as Vice President, Business Planning & Quality since August 2013. Erin is a Black Belt certified Six Sigma Expert.

Pierre-Gilles Gour
VICE PRESIDENT CONTRACTS, LEGAL & COMPLIANCE
Pierre-Gilles was appointed NAVBLUE’s Head of Legal, Ethics and Compliance in March 2016. He is a seasoned professional, having practiced in a multinational law firm before joining Airbus Group. He has more than 15 years of legal practice experience in the aerospace industry.

Mathilde Jeanvoine
VICE PRESIDENT PORTFOLIO GROWTH
Mathilde has over 20 years of international experience in the aviation industry with 17 specific to airport operations. Having delivered several successful projects abroad, she has acquired a keen understanding of ecosystem challenges, a strong safety culture and a sharp focus on Return On Investment. In 2017, she joined NAVBLUE with the challenge of expanding its presence to new market segments. As Head of Portfolio Growth, she maximizes the creation of new business value for the airline market by employing SAFe and LPM against the substantial annual investment NAVBLUE makes in its portfolio.

Since 2014, as VP Marketing & Sales, Briac has been in charge of Sales, Marketing, Commercial Strategy, Bid, Pricing & Sales Operations within Thales Avionics Services Worldwide Business Segment. During his career, he has been leading several types of sales related to NAVBLUE businesses such as EFB solutions, Database Distribution Services, Functional Upgrades (FMS/SVS/Surveillance)…

Aurélien Leon
VICE PRESIDENT HUMAN RESOURCES
Aurélien graduated from HEC Montreal Business School in Canada and holds a Master degree in HR & Employment Law from Paris Panthéon Assas University in France. He has 15 years of experience in International HR and Business Administration, working in Singapore, Canada and France. He held different positions in Airbus Customer Services department, built from scratch Airbus Services Asia Pacific, a 100% Airbus subsidiary based in Singapore, and spent 5 years as its Managing Director. He then moved to Toulouse as Industrial Relations Manager for Airbus SAS. In his former role, Aurélien was Executive Assistant to the Chief HR & Workplace Officer of the group Airbus.

Nathalie Lorenz
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Nathalie holds a master’s degree in international business from ESCP Europe. She started her career in investment banking and management consulting. In 2004, she joined Airbus in finance. Since then, she has held various roles from business controlling to performance management. Nathalie has over 20 years of experience in strategy and finance in different countries (Western Europe, US and Asia-Pacific).

Andrew Shenouda
VICE PRESIDENT, OPERATIONS
Andrew holds an Aerospace Engineering Degree, is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Ontario, holds a PMP designation and is currently pursuing an Executive MBA. Andrew brings 20+ years of experience in Engineering, Aerospace OEM product development, Integrated Systems defense solutions, Technology, and Operations experience to lead NAVBLUE’s Operations team. As Vice President Operations, Andrew is driven to exceed customer’s expectations in Quality, Performance and Delivery. Andrew joined NAVBLUE early 2022 leading Software Factory prior to his current role.

Arnaud Voermans
VICE PRESIDENT, CUSTOMER FULFILLMENT
As Head of Customer Fulfillment, Arnaud is responsible for ensuring that business value is realized for our global airline customers across all products, services and data offered by NAVBLUE. Arnaud has a BS degree in Computer Science and spent much of his career leading high-performing software development teams. He joined NAVBLUE in 2017 and brings more than 20 years experience in building and delivering digital solutions to airline customers.

VICE PRESIDENT CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
Anne joined Airbus Helicopters in 2011. She held positions in Information Management and Industry directorates, leading R&T innovation for Operations as well as deploiement and support of digital methods and tools. Before joining Airbus Helicopters, Anne held several positions at Peugeot Citroen Automobiles (connecting IM teams and internal users) and Dassault Systemes, (accompanying customers of the aerospace industry).

Antonia Helterlin
VICE PRESIDENT STRATEGY AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Antonia holds a Master's Degree in International Business and Management. She has close to 15 years of experience in the aviation business, working in multicultural environments with leading roles in Customer Affairs, Innovation, Transformation and Strategy. In her former role, Antonia was the Chief of Staff to the EVP Strategy, M&A and Public Affairs of the group Airbus. As VP Strategy and Business Development, Antonia is responsible for defining and delivering the Corporate Strategy of NAVBLUE, supporting our growth ambition, through business development, partnerships and innovation.

VICE PRESIDENT GLOBAL PROGRAMMES
Radha is the Vice President Global Programmes of NAVBLUE. Immediately before this she was the Chief Technology Officer at Commuteair - a regional airline in the US. Developing innovative solutions that bring value, safety and quality has always been her priority in her 26+ years with airlines in the United States. One consistent lesson that she has learned is that the more you engage your customers/business users and employees in the transformation the better the outcomes. The formula for success isn't a big secret. It’s about spending time to understand the problems and building compelling solutions that are high quality and have intuitive designs.
