- Who are we?
NAVBLUE is a services company, wholly owned by Airbus, dedicated to Flight Operations & Air Traffic Management Solutions.
Through digital & collaborative innovation, our passionate & customer-focused team develops solutions to enhance the safety and efficiency of air transport. Over the last years, Airbus has been supportive of various initiatives such as Going Digital, Performance Based Navigation services, Air Traffic Management modernization programs (SESAR & NextGen), FlySmart on iOS and other digital projects related to new aircraft technologies; the launch of NAVBLUE was therefore a natural step to further develop its Flight Operations and Air Traffic Management portfolio.
Fueled by the agility of Airbus ProSky and Navtech (acquired in 2016), and the pioneering spirit of Airbus, NAVBLUE was created in July 2016 with one mission: lead aviation into the digital age.
After Ray and Dorothy English create Navtech, Dorothy goes on to develop the first computerised flight plan software on a TRS-80 personal computer.
Navtech buys Compuflight and increases flight planning market share.
Navtech acquires the Weather Service division of Global Weather Dynamics, Inc. and widens its portfolio.
Navtech acquires Airware Solutions, Inc. and enters the Crew Planning market, providing the industry’s leading Preferential Bidding Solution.
Navtech acquires European Aeronautical Group, a group founded by Scandinavian Airlines, British Airways and a number of avionics manufacturers.
Navtech becomes one of the top three world leaders in the field, delivering Flight Planning, Charts, EFB, Crew Planning, and Aircraft Performance Solutions.
Airbus creates Quovadis, a dedicated subsidiary to develop Performance based Navigation services.
Airbus creates Airbus ProSky to improve the overall performance of Air Traffic Management.
Quovadis is merged into Airbus ProSky.
Airbus launches “LUCEM” as part of its Bizlab initiative: its objective is to start producing high quality data for new cockpit needs such as the airport mapping database.
Airbus acquires Navtech and decides to merge it with Airbus LUCEM and Airbus ProSky to create NAVBLUE.
Committed to air transport safety and performance, NAVBLUE never compromises on the quality of its solutions.
NAVBLUE globally follows the standards set out in the EN 9100:2009 (AS9100C) standard and ED-76 (DO-200) and holds an AS9100 certificate at the UK and Waterloo sites and an ISO 9100 certificate at the Cardiff site. All levels of management undergo review on a monthly basis, inspiring them to provide customers with solutions that deliver on their promises.
