The world-wide experts in Performance Based Navigation

DESIGNby NAVBLUE applies Performance-Based Navigation principles to redesign your approach and departure procedures as well as your airspace, so that airlines and airports can operate with increased efficiency and safety.

How does it work?

DESIGNby NAVBLUE allows you to: develop optimized concepts of operation (CONOPS) and validate them through Fast Time Simulation; design and validate PBN approach/departure procedures; support Authorities and ANSPs in implementing the procedures (regulatory support, ATC training, etc.) and airlines to obtain their operational approvals (crew training, RNP operational approval support, etc.). The CONOPS is derived from a thorough assessment of the current situation, future planning and a gap analysis of existing operations.

NAVBLUE has been approved as an Instrument Flight Procedure Design organisation by the Direction générale de l’aviation civile (DGAC) of France and by the International Civil Aviation Organisation.

  1. Reduce fuel consumption

Improve operational efficiency by providing more direct routes, shorter approaches, optimized vertical profiles (Continuous Descent Operations) and improved payload.

  2. Increase capacity

Increase airport capacity by a challenging review of ground operations and airside infrastructure, de-conflicting departures and arrivals, and optimizing airspace usage while reducing ATC workload.

  3. Reduce environmental footprint

Reduce noise in sensitive areas and aircraft CO2 emissions by providing shorter routes.

  4. Enhance safety

Provide fully repeatable and manageable procedures defined down to runway threshold, reduce probability of unstabilized approaches and missed approaches using advanced navigation concepts like RNP AR.

  5. Improve airport accessibility

Lower approach minima in terrain-challenging environments and reduce the number of weather related diversions and cancellations.

Jorn Fugger
Senior Management Operations Efficiency, Etihad Airways

In 2016, by flying the PBN approaches developed by NAVBLUE at Abu Dhabi airport, Etihad has saved 328,000 kg of fuel.

Danilo Oralndic
CEO, Airports of Montenegro

NAVBLUE’s knowledge of aircraft performance and RNP AR procedure design means that we can now consider investing in updating Tivat Airport to allow night operations. This could have a direct impact on our ability to attract tourism and business travel to Tivat.

Henrik Ekstrand
Ecology & Performance Manager - Flight Captain A321, Novair

We received approval to fly RNP AR into Madeira and now all of our flights there are RNP AR, it is 100% every week basically. The procedures are well received from the pilots, no reported issues at all. I’ve flown to RWY23, it worked out very well.

Captain Chenga
Chief Pilot, Bhutan Airlines

Working with NAVBLUE was extremely productive. NAVBLUE’s consultancy service went beyond their contractual requirements, they took it to another level with their proactivity and professionalism to achieve the RNP AR approval, within an extremely short time frame.
