– Hello Prem! Could you share how you first got into aviation?
Ever since I was a child, I’ve been fascinated with airplanes and wanted to be a pilot. That fascination only grew stronger over the years, and when the time came to begin my professional journey, I knew I had to be part of this incredible industry—no matter where I started. I took my first leap as a flight attendant with an airline in India, eager to get as close to the skies as possible. Every chance I had to visit the cockpit inflight, I’d soak in every word from the experienced pilots, who were always excited to share their knowledge. Learning from them about different aircraft components and how to actually fly ignited something even deeper in me—it added mixture to my passion and throttle to my dream!
– What does your Product Marketing Specialist role entail?
As a Product Marketing Specialist, I focus primarily on the Fly & Navigate, Supply Aerodata, and Manage Risks product portfolios. I support the sales and commercial teams in the Americas region by engaging with customers in the early stages of the sales cycle. My responsibilities include qualifying new opportunities through tailored product presentations and demonstrations. In addition to customer engagement, I contribute to shaping the marketing strategy for our offerings. This involves defining go-to-market approaches, product positioning, pricing strategies, and conducting regional market analyses to assess trends, customer expectations, and competitor developments.
– Could you share with us the best experience you’ve had at NAVBLUE?
Hands down one of the best experiences was the Airbus final assembly line visit in Toulouse. The tour was a once in a lifetime experience to see how these massive aircraft components are brought to life and the opportunity to see the Beluga up close!
– As a pilot, what would you say is your favorite NAVBLUE solution (and why)?
-Mission+! The Airport Moving Maps (AMM) within M+ Maps is such a value add! I realized the benefit of this functionality when I flew into Montreal airport which can be slightly complex to navigate for a GA aircraft.
– How has your experience as a pilot influenced your approach to projects or challenges at NAVBLUE?
Being a pilot has given me valuable insight into our products from an end-user perspective. This experience has deepened my understanding of pilot workflows and the operational challenges they face, including high-pressure scenarios such as last-minute runway changes. These situations often require rapid recalculations of aircraft performance, updated NOTAM reviews, and heightened situational awareness—all of which can significantly impact flight operations. By leveraging my aviation background and my role in primarily handling Fly and Navigate and Supply Aerodata products, I’m able to communicate more effectively with our customers and align our offerings with their real-world needs and expectations.
