Summary: 

A NAVBLUE Aeronautical Analyst - Charts is responsible for supporting the initial analysis and planning of work for the chart production teams (working to a 14-day revision cycle) as well as identifying and applying updates to NAVBLUE Supplement documents. 

This analysis will cover all types of State-published aeronautical information (general information, enroute information, aerodrome information) within all documents types (aeronautical information publications, supplements, circulars etc).

Charts analysts will also provide high level technical response support on the customer portal and guidance to the chart production teams as required. 

 

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Demonstrate confidence (full understanding of differing state information types) in role to analyse and organise aeronautical publication changes into production tasks to be carried out by the production teams (both charts and minima) in accordance with working instructions.
  • Create and publish appropriate written change notification (bulletin) to users in cases where chart reissue has not been chosen. 
  • Develop knowledge and support application of the NAVBLUE Chart Specification to all NAVBLUE chart products (Charts and Supplement). 
  • Apply updates to xml database (M+Doc Chart Supplement) of aeronautical rules and directories in order to maintain the NAVBLUE Supplement. 
  • Raise and monitor communications to state authorities in response to any discrepancy identified through document analysis.   
  • Show ability to lead communications with chart production teams to resolve production task feedback as well as providing guidance on production tasks.
  • Build understanding and proven ability to develop the internal database of regionalised support content (NAVBLUE wiki).
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to resolving team actions from the weekly Ops Planning Feedback meeting.  
  • Identify quality, non-conformance issue(s) and potential risks, escalate appropriately and propose corrective and preventative actions.

 

Additional Responsibilities (at least one of) :

  • Demonstrate ability to provide customer response on support portal (Freshdesk) and successfully prepare and conclude resulting production requests. 
  • Completion of PDF Check Training for NAVBLUE Supplement work. 
  • Support sample checking of chart production outputs.
  • Support Training functions within Charts. 
  • Support of Chart Minima functions (through project work and/or attendance in meetings).

  • Adhere to existing processes and suggest improvements to increase quality and efficiency.  Perform in-depth investigation of an issue to formulate decisions before seeking guidance.
  • Demonstrate ability to identify challenges/blockers to achieving predetermined deadlines and escalate accordingly

 

Qualified Experience/Training:  

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Geography, GIS, or Aeronautics is an asset
  • Degree in aviation related field is an asset

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English
  • Additional languages considered an asset

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Google suite
  • Ability to learn bespoke software

Travel Required:
