Summary:  As a Minima Analyst at NAVBLUE, you will be responsible for supporting the creation of safety critical products to support pilots in the aviation industry. Analysts will update and maintain minima products in line with the latest state publications delivering to meet a 28-day AIRAC cycles. You will use your analytical skill to resolve any discrepancies identified during this process and a variety of software tools to update the products. 

 

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Update NAVBLUE minima products in line with our Specification and Quality standards (applying Minima standards for Part Ops (EASA regulated), TERPS (FAA regulated), TP308 (Canadian Authority regulated), etc.
  • Analyse aeronautical publications in order to identify and apply required updates to NAVBLUE databases and products by following the workflow set out in process documentation. 
  • Obtain level of quality to enable training for verification activity.
    Upon passing the test, demonstrate the ability to perform activity routinely.
  • Take ownership of communications sent to state authorities in order to resolve document analysis discrepancy.   
  • Identify quality, non-conformance issue(s) and potential risks, escalate appropriately and propose corrective and preventative actions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvements of tools and processes (Agile, SAFE).
  • Provide mentoring, feedback and support to further training and development.
  • Assist and contribute to internal and customer projects through research, estimates, providing feedback on findings, and other duties as required.
  • Investigate and reply to customer queries, requests/errors/issues via the Customer Support Portal.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities & Competencies:

  • Have a good understanding of Minima production related activities including but not limited to: operational use of T/O and landing minima, official publications and regulations requirements (i.e. All Weather Operations), minima calculations etc. 
  • Demonstrate excellent work ethic and positive attitude towards daily tasks and the company.
  • Be open and responsive to change.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with all internal stakeholders and interact with external stakeholders.
  • Lead small projects and host internal meetings/workshops with support or guidance.
  • Collaborate and share ideas, both within Charts+ Minima and with other teams, to achieve team and department goals.
  • Assist team members to manage team assignments and ensure completeness.
  • Be quality minded with excellent attention to detail.
  • Adhere to existing processes and suggest improvements to increase quality and efficiency.  Perform in-depth investigation of an issue to formulate decisions before seeking guidance.
  • Demonstrate ability to identify challenges/blockers to achieving predetermined deadlines and escalate accordingly

 

Qualified Experience/Skills/Training:  

Education:

  • Educated to ‘A’ Level or equivalent
  • Degree in aviation related field is an asset

 

Experience: 

  • Experience working in companies in the aviation/corporate industry 
  • Working knowledge of Aeronautical Information Services (AIS)/NOTAMs publications is required
  • Experience working with official regulations / publications related to minima calculation is required 
  • Experience working as FOO/Flight Dispatcher is an asset
  • Experience in quality check is an asset
  • Experience in mentoring 

 

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English

 

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Google suite
  • Ability to learn bespoke software
