GNSS Monitoringby NAVBLUE

Real-time monitoring & alerting for GNSS

NAVBLUE has developed the GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) Monitoring system to provide recording and analysis of GNSS performance, near real-time monitoring & alerting and performance/integrity prediction.

GNSS Monitoring system’s main functions are to:

  • Monitor and record GNSS signal availability
  • Detect unexpected system outages and generate alerts
  • Allow airports to detect interference (including jamming) or spoofing

  1. Ensure compliance with ICAO Annex 10 requirements

GNSS Monitoring allows CAAs, ANSPs and Airports supporting GNSS operations to meet ICAO Annex 10 guidance and state regulations requiring monitoring and recording of GNSS data.

  2. Enables quick reaction in case of degradation of GNSS performance

GNSS Monitoring?can generate alerts if the GNSS signal quality is degraded, which can arise from natural events such as solar/space weather and ionospheric interference but also local signal interference.

  3. Obtain legal recording of GNSS signals

Record signal data for GNSS constellations including GPS, Galileo, GLONASS as well as SBAS EGNOS to support accident and incident investigation.

GNSS-based procedures at the Parma airport increased the number of aircraft per hour from nine to fifteen. (Palmerini, Giovanni & Simone, M & Simone, A. (2013). Advantages of GNSS-Based Terminal Procedures)

10+ years of providing GNSS Monitoring to civil aviation
